Clubnapped

I was working on the computer this morning, trying to knock out some words before I started packing for the move to the new house. I heard a knock on the door, and looked out to see two large, muscular, very cute guys dressed like the Blue Brothers standing on my doorstep. Behind them was a long, black limo.

They were too well dressed for movers, and the FBI and the IRS are too cheap to use limos, so I figured they were well-to-do spiritual advisors. "I know Jesus is my personal savior," I told them when I opened the door. "My neighbor doesn't, but he has a rottweiler and is not what you'd call a morning person."

"Alison Kent Bookclub, ma'am." The taller one flashed a badge like a Fed, only this one was pink and gold and had AKB on it. "Are you Lynn Viehl, author of If Angels Burn?" I nodded. "We have your title under investigation. You'll have to come with us."

(I'm sending this post from Alison's limo. You would not believe what she has in here: champagne, Godiva chocolates, fresh flowers, and every kind of wireless in the techworld. I could be wrong but I think the chauffeur is Christian Bale.)

  1. Argh! I'm only halfway through If Angels Burn! Wish I would've known about the AK book club earlier.

This is turning out to be a weird trend for me. I went to my public library on Saturday to try to get a copy of Handmaid's Tales by Margaret Atwood, but all of the copies were checked out. There was going to be a book club meeting about it this week.

Always a day late and a dollar short. ;)

  2. I just ordered 'If Angels Burn' so I can't join in on AK's bookclub discussion. It says it's full of spoilers. Can't have spoilers! I eagerly look forward to the read. In the meantime, enjoy that limo ride... and the chocolate!

Are they playing the Peter Gun theme?

I LOVE the Peter Gun theme!

    Congrats, hon!

  4. Did they have cocktails? Any limo without cocktails has to be treated with suspicion! Not to mention DDT!

Send the AKB guys to my door next! lol...
just finished If Angels Burn - all I can say is WOW!
I went to my writiers guild (Golden Triangle Writers Guild) meeting Tuesday night held @ Barnes and Noble ( I love that place! books, books, and more books - the smell of the ink and paper closing around you, comforting, the brilliant array of colorful artwork shining from book jackets, inspiring...I could stay for hours in that place!) Our guest speaker for the evening was the author of the series, 'Adventure of Elements', Richard James. Anyway, enjoyed his talk immensly but I couldn't ignore the pull of all the wonderfull unread novels just waiting for me to turn their pages, especially Charlaine Harris's new edition. However,
when I couldn't find her I turned the corner from the SciFi/Fantasy section smack dab into the Romance Section and spied your novel immediately (don't know if it was the blue eyes or the white lettering jumping of the black backgrnd but it literally jumped out at me)
The book spoke volumes to me, a big Anne Rice fan also. I am currently working on a vamp series of my own (with a twist). My story is more fantastical than yours. I was struck by how believable you made the plot and the characters. Keep them coming!
