97% sell-through? Wow. That's fantastic! But just think how many more copies this author could have sold if the publisher had printed enough to get the book some decent coverage in stores. Congrats (and condolences) to this author. FWIW, I've heard that anything over 80% is a big clue to the publisher that they didn't give the book enough support.

Wow. The royalty percent is much lower than I'd expect it would be. Still, not so bad.

Yet even with a 97% sell-through, the author still hasn't earned out his advance. (Assuming 6.5% average royalty on $7 cover price.) He will, if the 97% holds, but he hasn't yet.
