Road Trip Ten

I'm back, and I'm unpacking me and the family and Mom, who is spending the Spring with us. I also have a story to tell you about something momentous that happened during my travels -- stop in tomorrow for that. In the meantime, here are:

Ten Things I Saw While I was on the Road

  1. I've been saving up things to tell you while you were gone, lol.

Like - have you seen this?

And did you know that Writer's Forum apparently comes in a digital edition? The last time you mentioned that magazine, I went looking in hopes that there was a cheaper way that those on this side of the pond could purchase it. I know that you're not too terribly fond of digital stuff, but since there are others out there that might be - and it's not easily found from their website - I thought I'd share.

    Huge difference in price.

12 month, 6 month, or single issues. It's here: http://www.pocketmags.com/viewmagazine.aspx?titleid=111&title=Writers%27+Forum

    1. Thanks for the link to the digital subscription info for Writer's Forum, Shawna -- I really love this mag and will definitely check that out today.

It's a shame this thing with author/reviewers and Amazon has gotten so out of hand, but given some of the history and the folks involved I can see why they'd ban them.

Welcome back and hello to Mum! Love the pictures, it looks like you covered some beautiful country on your travels. I particularly liked the roses growing out of the tree. Isn't Mother nature amazing?

    1. Nature is pretty wonderful, Fran, and those roses probably kept me from jumping off a cliff. :)

    1. Thanks, lady. Given his body shape and bill I'm pretty sure he's a heron, although I haven't been able to match him up to anything in my bird books (which admittedly are mainly about southern birds.)

  4. Lovely photos! Where were they taken? Looks like the mountains close by. I hope you had a wonderful vacation! Glad you got home safely!

    1. Thanks, J. We were in the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains; I think these are mainly from the Smokies.

    1. I'm really pleased with how well they came out, B. The mountains make me look like a way better photographer than I really am, lol.

  7. Gorgeous! (Now I have to go google how to insert a slide show in a post - what a great idea!)

    1. I wish I could take credit for the coding but whenever I create a slideshow of a pic set on Flickr the site automatically creates an embed code, which is what I copy and paste onto the blog.
