If Mark Sarvas didn't really have a good reason to hate Steve Almond before, he does now (you have to watch an ad to read the entire article for free, but it's educational to see reviewers at their most professional. Link via Nick Mamatas.)

I don't know. It reads more like a publicity stunt they worked out together.

  2. That article was hysterical. :-P

  3. It's amazing how this little spat has gone through the blogosphere.

John Scalzi has a post on this tiff*, in which he points to another much better literary feud**.

    * Geez, I've been dealing with .tif and .tiff for so long I don't know how you spell the English colloquial expression.
** Here's hoping the link works.

  4. That was wonderful and terrifying. Honestly, I felt like a transfixed bystander, fascinated by the gory aftermath of a seven car highspeed pile-up.

    Shamefully thrilling.

  5. It would perhaps attain riveting status were either of the actors known outside of their own circles.

  6. Brilliant and I think I'm going to hire myself a nemesis. What a great way to get your name out there!

I did like the little self-jabs Almond added. They made it worth reading.
