Pics Problems

I am ready to give up on Photobucket as a photo archive, as their service has become so problematic I can hardly upload anything anymore. Since Blogger offers a pic upload, I'm going to experiment with it today to see how it works (and show you some of the work I've been doing while I was on hiatus):

Pics #1-2 (Small Size on the Blogger Upload): Two throw quilts I made over the spring; I designed the bargello pattern for the second one myself.

Pics #3-4 (Medium Size): A tote I made from fabric scraps for a friend of my guy's who was in a car wreck; a quilt I designed and made with some gorgeous blocks and fabric that our pal Theo sent me.

Pics #5-6 (Large Size): A beach tote I made for my daughter after accidentally destroying hers in the washer; and my very first official art quilt, which I made for fun last month.

I have to figure out the text wrapping on Blogger's photo upload, but otherwise it seems pretty easy.

Can anyone recommend a photo archive/hosting service (other than Photobucket) that is simple to use and doesn't cost an arm + leg? Let me know in comments.

  1. I love the colors on the second quilt. And what a great idea for a beach bag. The art piece is also neat, but it hurts my fingers thinking of all that detail work!

I never liked Photo Bucket. When I was on Blogger I used Picasa, though sometimes the text wrapping was wonky.

There's always Flickr, Lychee, and Google Photos. You might check them out to see if they fit the bill.

  3. The oak tree on that art quilt is...I don't know why, but it's just gorgeous and it really does call to me every time I see it.

I downloaded all of my photos from Photobucket a couple weeks ago when I got the email that said "no more third party embedding unless you pay for the service" and am trying to figure out what to do now. I've started using Google photos but haven't had much luck embedding them so I don't know. I host a little forum for a very small group and I'm thinking I might be able to upload the photos there, but I haven't checked into that yet.

  4. Love the black and white tote :)

  5. I use IMGUR for my collaborative writing. Linking to third parties in various formats and sizes seems to work perfectly fine...
