Follow the White Rabbit

Benjamin Lacombe's Il Etait Une Fois (Once Upon A Time) is one of the most visually gorgeous book videos I've ever seen (video link swiped from The Presurfer, which also just turned ten years old. Happy Anniversary, Gerard.)

  1. Anonymous1:54 AM

Great video. I think back to my days in high school when a book promotion was the best sellers list and book review. That was back in the late 70s when I shared hopes, dreams, aspirations and fears with other students at PHS and sometimes with you. Glad to see you and I hope the years have been, and continue to be, kind to you. Love always, James C

  2. Had to come back and have another look. Superb creativity. Reminds me of Klaus Haapaniemi for some reason.

  3. That trailer was so good, I actually visited the French site to order the book. In other words, I lost my mind!

  4. I loved this. Completely beautiful.

I was also wowed by the "Museum of Thieves" game on kongregate(.com), which my daughter recommended. It was fun and creepy, which resulted in my being willing to follow the link at the end of the game to the first chapter of the book it's based on. Which immediately resulted in my wanting to Own.The.Book.Now.

I think that qualifies as a successful marketing strategy, particularly since I've been recommending it like crazy to the rest of my family.

  5. Wow, just wow. Looks like I'm going to have to follow Marjorie's lead and go to the French Amazon to order me a copy. So beautiful.
