Twins Update

It's only been a week since we took a peek at Mama mourning dove's twins, Liu and Xiaobo, but they have since more than doubled in size (click on any image to see larger version):

Their Mama has been nice enough not to attack any of our infrequent visitors, while the twins have been very quiet and well-behaved.

Judging by past experiences, I'd say we only have another week to go before they're old enough to fly.

I'll miss them, but we already have another feathered family moving in -- and this one decided to take advantage of our most popular pre-fab nesting spot:

  1. Lynn, I looked and looked for an email address for you--but only found your blog. I just finished the first two Stardoc books and cannot find an e-book of Endurance. One of your posts said your publisher is converting these books to e-book format. Is there any chance this would happen soon? I have completely converted to reading on my Kindle.

Thank you very much. Your books are a delightful escape from my troubles. I am anxious for the latest Kyndred book to be published this year...

  2. An actual bird nesting in the bird house?! Beautiful baby doves, thanks for the photos.

  3. Holy cow! You have a tenant. A 'real' one. Are you charging him rent? ;o)

What kind of bird is that? It's so blue!

And I'll be incognito for awhile. This old laptop is dying by leaps and bounds so I've ordered a new one. I am so bummed. Definitely not the expense I needed nor the time to have it happen.

Sorry about that. I did have my e-mail address up on the front page for a while, but it started attracting crazy people so I decided to take it back down.

My publisher said that all the StarDoc books would eventually be re-released in e-book format, but I suspect it's going to take a while. I'm not exactly a high priority author for them.

I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed my work, and hope your troubles are of short duration. Take care and thanks for stopping in.

Yeah, when I saw it wasn't a frog or a snake or a komodo dragon I about had a heart attack.

Beautiful baby doves, thanks for the photos.

I know my yard dramas are probably putting most of my visitors to sleep, but the babies are so cute I can't help it. :)

On that birdhouse I really should. I could retire tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure she's an Eastern Blue Bird (she looks a lot like this one, anyway.) We've had the same species nest in the same birdhouse a few years ago.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Hang in there, pal.

  7. Thanks, Lynn for getting back to me. I will hope for quick ebook conversions:)

I love the bird pics. Sometimes we need to be reminded of the beauty of the small things in our world.

May all the crazies stay away:)
