I've always said that I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe, so it shouldn't be a surprise to find out that I also write from there.
You're all familiar with prequel and sequel stories. In five days I'd like to introduce you to the parallel story:
Be here next Wednesday, December 10th, to help me celebrate the release of Master of Shadows, an original novella of the Darkyn, a parallel story to my January '09 Darkyn novel, Stay the Night, and my very first published e-book.

(Great big, goofy grin).
ReplyDeleteCan't wait. :)
Congrats on your eVolution! Can't wait to read it. : )
ReplyDeleteOh wow. How cool!
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I'll be there with bells. :)
ReplyDeleteNeato! Parallel story... Does that mean it follows what some other characters were doing while the main ones were involved in the events of Stay the Night?
ReplyDeleteIn a way, it reminds me of the bonus features that come with DVD's, which I like so much because I'm such a nerd and I want to know everything.
Parallel universe, eh? Are there sqrls?

ReplyDeleteI got me one of those, too. ;)

ReplyDeleteI am tickled beyond belief that I get to do this -- and very fortunate that I had the chance to work on this project with people who understand the internet and how terrific e-books are.

ReplyDeleteYou had a hand in this, too, you know (Shiloh is the one who originally got me hooked on e-books. All her fault.)

ReplyDeleteThank you, ma'am. Bring hot chocolate and marshmallows, too -- I'm freezing. ;)

ReplyDeleteYou nailed it in one question, Margaret. The story takes place in America at the same time Stay the Night, Robin of Locksley's story, is happening in Europe. There are a couple of shared scenes between the two books, told in MoS from the POV of Will Scarlet, but otherwise the e-book is a separate and new story.

Me, too. It will be interesting to see how well it works.

ReplyDeleteOf course -- what good would a parallel universe be without them?
Ohhh sounds exciting! Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteYvonne
Congrats, Lynn!! Can't wait! :)
ReplyDeleteWill it be available for download to the Sony Reader?
ReplyDeleteSounds really intriguing.
ReplyDelete"I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe" - Wait - that's MY parking spot!
ReplyDeleteFINALLY happening: "people who understand the internet and how terrific e-books are"
Will be here on Dec 10th coffee cup in hand, ready for a great read.
You had a hand in this, too, you know (Shiloh is the one who originally got me hooked on e-books. All her fault.)
ReplyDeleteLOL. Well, hey... I dunno if I can claim credit for that, but if you want to give it to me, who am I to complain? :-)
Sounds great. Parallels are fun.
ReplyDeleteIf it means more Darkyn stories, I'm there!! Looking forward to both releases.
ReplyDeleteTerri
I can't wait! I loved Stay the Night and can't wait to read Will's story.
ReplyDeleteOoh, how fun :). Congrats on the parallel story and on your first e-book sale. Good luck on Wednesday. I'll be out of town, but I'll poke by late (as usual) to see what you were up to :D.
ReplyDeleteBTW, it's thanks to that widget you put up that I'm here more frequently than before. Just thought you'd like to know :).
Leave it to you to create a new genre/universe. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so cool! I've been keep my eye on your shelf in the stores wondering when the next release was going to show. Now you'll just be a click/download away! Can't wait!

Urban Literati wrote: Will it be available for download to the Sony Reader?
ReplyDeleteYes. The folks I've been working with told me it will be made available in multiple formats including Sony Reader. And to quote one of the eSpecial PRs: "As with all Penguin eBooks the Penguin "eSpecials" will be available in many formats including Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle, Adobe Acrobat, and others."
AnnaM. wote: Sounds really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna. I'm hopeful that readers will like the new approach.
