Face Me Out, Please

If you were a book, where would you be shelved in the library? Take this Dewey Decimal quiz and find out.

My results:

Yep, that makes all kinds of sense (when I visit the library I spend a lot of time browsing the 900's as it's my favorite nonfic section, so I'd be happy there as a book.) On what shelf did you end up? Post your results in comments.

  1. I'm a fellow 900. Very interesting quiz and I've forwarded the link to a couple of friends - I'll be interested to see where they land. Thanks for a fun couple of minutes.

    1. My pleasure. One of my pals took it and ended up with an orange Maserati in the 600's of Applied Sciences. Why don't I ever get to apply science like that?

    1. Must dust my side of the shelf first. Ha.

  3. I got the 900s as well. Though I like history and geography, I was pretty sure I would be tucked in somewhere on the shelf between fiction/romance/SF.

    1. They don't include fiction in the Deweys, Terlee, or I know I'd be on the steampunk shelf. :)

  5. You got 800's - Literature! You are a true bookworm! You are always in the middle of a fantastic book and hit up your local library often. You appreciate not only fiction novels and nonfiction books, but enjoy reading poetry and plays as well! You can recite the plot of quite a few Shakespeare plays and appreciate theater and the arts!

But I really don't enjoy poetry and don't know much about Shakespeare. But the rest is pretty spot on.

  7. Amusing - 800's, but I had problem with one question the "You've won a million dollars, you buy" the first thing I do is buy my house. The rest of it? Meh, I want my mortgage gone, then yes I get a new car, but not my "dream" car, just a good new car that will last a long time. So... that one kind of annoys me.

Why yes I'm paranoid about bills, why do you ask?

I got 900's too. But I really didn't get that into history, civilization, presidents. Probably because my history teacher had a super boring voice....I have always liked a good story. Definitely remember reading a "biographical story" about someone nicknamed the Swamp Fox. It was good, kept me up all night. Other biographies sort of pale in comparison I guess. Spent a lot of time reading old westerns, and occasionally dipping my toes in the water of biography/autobiography IF they were written in an entertaining manner. I DO love to learn, enjoy maps and mysterious places though. Also, the question "what's the first thing you'd buy if you won the lottery" had crap answers. Did NOT like any of them. I'd buy a house, eliminate mortgage/rent payments. I certainly would NOT buy a "dream" car, but would consider replacing our slowly aging vehicles. The rest...um. nope. Not at all near the top of my "lottery winning must have" list.

  9. Another 900s here, though I was expecting 800s. Not really a history fan, at least as presented by public schools, though I certainly enjoy the way we do history as a homeschool parent.
