You may have said this and I missed it, but how did you choose the title for The Clockwork Wolf? I like it. I'm getting all kinds of fun mental images.
Some years back I was visiting a friend who collects wind-up toys and met his latest acquisition, this walking Wolfman, which alternately repelled and fascinated me. It was probably the most hideous toy I've ever seen and yet there was something very compelling about the idea of a tin werewolf you could wind up; I thought it would make a great story. So I wrote down my thoughts, stuck them in the idea file and forgot about them for a while, until I retrieved the idea for the Toriana books. The Wind-up Wolf didn't have much oomph to it as an urban fantasy title, however, so I went with a better (more precise) descriptive title, which became The Clockwork Wolf. :)
I got that piece at Hobby Lobby, Jennifer -- the brand name was Traditions (which I think is one of Hobby Lobby's jewelry element lines) and it was $2.47.

ReplyDeleteI love the ship pin and compass on the quilted piece above! May I ask where you found that?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
