The Lists

The news I hinted at is that Evermore is doing quite well, thanks to everyone who went out and purchased it. Apparently everyone did, as the book debuted as:

#7 on Border's and B&N's romance bestseller lists
#16 on Border's Group overall fiction mass market paperback list
#22 on B&N's overall fiction mass market paperback list
#23 on B&N's overall mass market paperback list
#96 on USA Today bestseller list (that's everything, hardcover, trade & mm)

And, deja vu, Evermore will come in at #21 on the next New York Times extended bestseller list.

How to say this without sobbing all over you guys and the blog, now that's the tricky part. For a writer, these are the moments when you put on your ratty old bathrobe, stuff some Kleenex in the pocket and curl up in your favorite chair. You hug your knees and think and shake your head a lot. And while you stare at your shins and try to fathom it all, you also wonder if the Times has any idea that you haven't shaved your legs since last Tuesday.

Okay, if you're me.

To everyone who took the time, made the effort and invested in Evermore, thank you.

This is fantastic news. Congrats!

I bet there are LOADS of best selling authors who haven't shaved their legs since at least last Tuesday. Like Dean Koontz and James Patterson . . .

Aww... dood, credit where credit's due. If you weren't so talented, we wouldn't buy the books. I still think Night Lost is the best Darkyn evah, but only because I haven't read Evermore yet.

*hugs* You are a fantastic author, Lynn. ROFL about the shaving comment.

Happy release launch. :)

Writing good = good payback. All the promoting in the world means squat if you don't put out a good product. You do, so it's paying back- WITH LITTLE PROMOTION ON YOUR PART!

It's a good book, Lynn. You deserve it.

Way to go...but now they're going to know about your shins. LOL

Here's hoping Twilight Fall will break into the NYT top twenty!

No big mystery. It's 'cause you're made of AWESOME and so are your books, silly.

Aren't unshaven legs a misdemeanor in the Sunshine State?

You earned it, lady. In the words of the immortal Mickey Spillane: "The first chapter sells the book. The last chapter sells the next book." Each of your Darkyn books sells the next book. =oD

I haven't read Evermore yet, but I'm drooling to get my hands on it. Next week, if I'm lucky.

So happy for you! I do have one complaint though... Evermore caused me to stay up until 1:30am when I intended to go to bed at 11. :)

Congratulations!

In even better news, Ashton Kutcher has broken his camera and has only a weed whacker to work with.

Quality shines through. Congratulations!!

That is so fantastic!! You and Evermore definitely deserve to be on the lists. :)

I'm sure they'll even go to the trouble to make a comment on the list, next to your book - author has not shaved since Tuesday... .

It's a good book, so really, no thanks needed.

And I definitely had a feeling this would happen when I saw it at 500 on Amazon's sale list. :D

Congratulations! You deserve this. The entire series is terrific and Evermore is wonderful.

As for the unshaven legs, you're just being environmentally responsible. The extra...umm...furry growth acts to insulate your body from the cold which means you can turn down the thermostat, use less energy and have a smaller carbon footprint.

"#96 on USA Today bestseller list"

I think this is the most awesome of the stats, considering it encompasses all books. A hardy congratulation and a warm handshake for making it!

"A great book, and the author hasn't shaved since last Tuesday!"

Now that's a cover blurb you'll never see. Cuz you know, we all have magic fairies who sprinkle pixie dust and the words just appear. :-)

What I'm trying to say is that you worked really, really hard for this and your readers are grateful for all your hard work because now they get to read a great book.

Lynn,
You should be very proud. Evermore is an awesome book. It really helped me during a difficult time. I started it when my daughter was admitted to the hospital for the RSV virus. I finished the book before she was released but it made the first part of our ordeal easier to bear.

I review for www.nightowlromance.com and gave it 4.75 out of 5 stars. It was the best one since If Angels Burn in my opinion. It isn't often that the fifth book is as good as the first. I loved everything about it. I was thrilled to see that Rob will be returning for his own book! WhooHoooo! I loved him ;) Keep them coming and I will be in the store on release day.
