Catch Up

If absence makes the heart grow fonder, I figure you're all crazy about me now.

I do apologize for my absence. We are all well. Aside from a plethura of technical problems, there are things that come before PBW, like family and work, and for the last week they needed me to be elsewhere. Tom has been upgrading my security software and tinkering on some other things behind the scenes (for which I am very grateful.)

Posting will continue to be sparse as I clean up and catch up here. I hope to have things back on schedule in a week or so. Thanks for all the e-mails, comments and other demonstrations of concern.

So what's up with you guys? Anyone have any news from their corner of the planet?

  1. Welcome back! We worry when you just, yanno, disappear :).

Hmm, news? None I can share, alas!

I missed you, but I figured with the onslaught of email you were probably receiving from everyone else, I'd just wait it out. ^_^

I have some happy news: I signed my first contract, for a short story with Drollerie Press, this week. Now to, uh, mail it back to them... :)

Sooooo glad to see you back online.

    News in short:

Evermore rocks. No, really, it does.
Both of my books will probably be translated to english and released sometime in '08.
Little Isac just spoke his first word. "Book". Warms daddys heart like nothing else.
Oh - and it's friday, for anyone that have not noticed already!

  7. Nervous ;-) Just sent the final draft of my latest out to a handful of first readers. Last chance to get feedback & catch bloopers.

  8. Glad to hear everything is fine - albeit busy - with you. I figured as much. Blog when you have time, otherwise do what you need to do. =oD

    Congrats to Jess.

And PBW, we are sooooo glad to have you back. I checked your blog every day and got a little sad when there were no new posts.

  10. Glad to see you're all right.

News? Well, I went to a convention last weekend - met Larry Niven, Vernor Vinge, and Sherwood Smith. Then had a great idea for a short story - but have been recovering from said convention, so I've been too tired to write! :-P

  11. Glad to hear all is well. It was very quiet in your corner of cyberspace and I was beginning to wonder . . .

As for me, I have my cover and a pub date finally. :)

Sooo understand about family and time to do things! Although I don't often leave comments, I always stalk your site to get a good laugh when you share jokes or just read different posts. A lot has happened in my week though:
    1. Put a for sale sign on the house, looking at new house
    2. Backyard flooded this week turning the blue pool into a green pond (yes, I'm in Jacksonville, Florida and we do NOT need any more rain)
    3. The living room flooded because of back yard flood which flooded the porch and then into living room
    4. rescued a Siamese (looking) cat and spent $192.14 on her for my good deed, but she's sweet
    5. finally got to read one of your posts. That's beenthe highlight of my week (after the cat rescue)!

I'm trying to donate a box of books to my library, but right now, they aren't showing much interest. Any good thoughts on what else I can do with these titles? Some fiction, some non-fiction? I'd rather not give them to a Goodwill type organization...or spend much money shipping them somewhere...

  19. You're back! I'm so glad. News here pretty much consists of page counts and the joy of cornering cats to administer Advantage.

  20. Neews? Evermore knocked my socks off - I'm running around barefoot telling everyone it's your best yet...

    Wecome back!

  21. I'm glad you're back. I've had to work instead of coming over here and goofing off.
What's new? I'm potentially going to make a horse's heinie out of myself tomorrow. I blog the first weekend of each month at Poe's Deadly Daughters and tomorrow I'm giving away a copy of The Slime That Men Do--some of the proceeds from the book go to breast cancer research and one of my favorite people has just successfully fought the disease, that's why I wanted to do this. If there are more than 60 posts I'll give away 4 copies of the book. Now I'm scared no one will comment.
Guys, please come say "Hi" tomorrow or Sunday. Slime is a very funny book and I'll have some extra goodies for each winner.

  22. Sooooo glad you're back and okay!

Me, I've moved from Singapore to Manchester to study. It's a fascinating experience, not least the drunk students who sing football songs in the middle of the night and the fire alarm that has gone off two nights in a row now.

I'm so glad you're back! I missed you like CRAZY! News from this side...yes, I've started a crafting blog: http://www.cassandramorris.com in my grandmother's memory. I've started reorganizing my office. *eep*

Been reading Evermore and OMG, I'm LOVING IT!!!

I got an ebook trilogy contract.

And my son learned how to take several steps on his own in the past week or so.

Oh and I placed in the contest junkies contest...#8 overall. It was really cool.
