Catching Up Q&A
Plugging back in last night, I realized a couple of things: It's almost November, which means October must have vanished into a time/space rift, because it was just September, wasn't it? I can't keep up; I need a perpetual calendar brain implant. I owe just about everyone e-mail now, too, including a couple of editors and my long-suffering agent. It would be so much easier if we were just telepathic. If there's ever a thought-transfer implant on the market, I want one of those, too.
One bit of lovely news: Shadowlight made the Times list for a second week; this time at #33.
I'm going through comments and e-mail now, but if I missed something while I was off being a writer and you need an answer, please post it in comments. Or just ask something new, or let us know what's happening with you.

Congrats on making the list again!
ReplyDeleteJust many congrats on the attainment! Are you feeling sad about it at all? Or more just satisfaction and relief?

ReplyDeleteThank you, ma'am. I wasn't expecting it the first time around, so to see the book there for a second week was just icing on a very large cake. :)

ReplyDeleteI was upset when I made the decision to end the series with book ten, but once I finished writing it I felt very peaceful. Nearly all of my long-time readers have been with me from the beginning of this series, and they deserved this last book for keeping the faith and believing in me. And while I've never felt I was entitled to publish anything, I think I've earned this one. :)
Absolutely, congrats! I think that's awesome about the Times list.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you mean too about October vanishing. It seems like when I got up yesterday, it was the beginning of September and now, November is almost here. Where does the time go?
I'd like to know what's next for you? What's going on with the 'new' that you'd mentioned?

ReplyDeleteNot sure. I think there's a couple of days from August hiding under my bed. And maybe an October weekend in the bottom of my purse, buried under all the loose change. ;)

(Groan) I haven't talked to that editor yet, either. I think I'm going to keep this under my hat a little while longer, at least until I sign the contract. Until I see ink, I worry about the jinx. :)
*sigh* It's all right. I understand. Really I do. I'd feel the same way about a jinx. So I can wait. :)

ReplyDeleteI admit, I'm being a little extra cautious this time; I've never worked with these folks before and I want to start off on the right foot with them. Thanks for understanding, T. :)
If you ever find one of those thought transmitters please let me know where you bought it. Hopefully it'll be at Wal-Mart as part of a price war ala its best seller broadside.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making the list again. Time flies like crazy.

Congrat's on making the list! Shadowlight was a joy to read and amazingly - I often think back to bits I read in there. (I say amazingly because I read so many books and they don't often stick with me).
ReplyDeleteWay to go!
Congrats Lynn. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteWell done on Shadowlights!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I must be confused, are you ending both of your 10-book series StarDock and Darkyn?! I will truly be sad if this is the end of the Darkyn. I'm not too in to paranormal but I can't help myself with your Kyn books. I have to keep from buying 2 at a time! Thanks for creating such an enjoyable series, I look forward to more from you.
