That way I don't kick myself when the power supply decides to die again -- or worse.

Thanks for posting.Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01805501348812702651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-58443452226302559302007-05-07T16:58:00.000-04:002007-05-07T16:58:00.000-04:00Ah, I needed this post yesterday when one of my fi...Ah, I needed this post yesterday when one of my files came up corrupted and I couldn't find any backup. My husband was able to restore it in Wordpad and we went from there. Now its saved in many many places and I have set up a special email acct for it.

That would've been 18k words down the drain.

Thanks for this!Ceri Heberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17584297798290334430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-47148088279359878392007-05-07T12:36:00.000-04:002007-05-07T12:36:00.000-04:00I store just about everything on my usb stick, and...I store just about everything on my usb stick, and then back up everything on the stick onto a second stick. Learned this trick the hard way after the hard drive crashed (ouch). Now if I could just get my Internet back up and running I'd be in business (I'm not saying where this is coming from- I'm pleading the fifth *g*).Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17968479919482739686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-23364273560855386892007-05-07T12:34:00.000-04:002007-05-07T12:34:00.000-04:00Crystallyn,Good that you also gmail yourself--I've...Crystallyn,

Good that you also gmail yourself--I've had two USB sticks fail.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02495558736099438348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-84091031944979453282007-05-07T09:14:00.000-04:002007-05-07T09:14:00.000-04:00I also suggest backing up your USB stick if you us...I also suggest backing up your USB stick if you use one. I sync mine with my office and my home computer, which means my data is in three places. Microsoft's SyncToy is free and easy to use.

Like Sasha though, I often email myself. Gmail's capacity means I don't have to worry about my box filling up and their search features make everything easy to find.Crystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15261874076265338276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-56738050881167534022007-05-07T08:44:00.000-04:002007-05-07T08:44:00.000-04:00You can also use OpenOffice to repair bad Word do...You can also use OpenOffice to repair bad Word documents. I have yet to find a Word document that OpenOffice couldn't repair, (that doesn't mean those documents aren't out there).

Also good if you can't afford the MSOffice package. There are versions for Windows, Mac and Linux.BJ Steeveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17298555740070972092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-7708033648165711172007-05-07T02:13:00.000-04:002007-05-07T02:13:00.000-04:00I'm a big fan of email ing myself.
