I like the cover art so far and it is eye-catching (there you go :D). I was noticing in the store the other day about how the StarDoc and shared world novels have completely different covers so it's clear which ones are in the series and which are related. I don't know how much I've noticed that before, but still, having continuity in the series is a real draw while I find the unadorned male faces mysterious. That said, I don't think a female face done up in the same way would break the thread.

So there you go. Pretty tangled if you ask me :p.

Cheers,
MargaretMargaret M. I think that cover art hits you emotionally, so the reasonable people who are being logical and suggesting that, regardless of gender, the Darkyn the book is about should be on the cover are not considering the emotional impact. I think, from reading comments on Romancing the Blog and from talking to die-hard Romance readers, that you should stick with the guys because the hero is who they read the book for. For me, personally, I'm more drawn to the guy faces and wouldn't be drawn to female faces. :)

LindaLindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04736694155016381228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-1145854039885578492006-04-24T00:47:00.000-04:002006-04-24T00:47:00.000-04:00I disagree with Trev. However, since a romance is about a man and a woman (regardless of the supernatural), I'd like to see both on the cover, facing each other, maybe, to represent all that goes on in a romance: the apartness, the confrontations, the emotional connections, the lust, the togetherness, the love.Jaye Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05595648222196000153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-1145741210376350412006-04-22T17:26:00.000-04:002006-04-22T17:26:00.000-04:00He looks like Sawyer on LOST.He looks like Sawyer on LOST.EA Monroehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14077434959405684899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-1145739914240072222006-04-22T17:05:00.000-04:002006-04-22T17:05:00.000-04:00I think your covers are striking.Speaking as a rea...I think your covers are striking.

Speaking as a reader...I don't mind book covers with the hero or heroine's face on them, but nothing gets to me more than when a book cover doesn't reflect the way the hero or heroine is described...like his hair was military short in the description in the book and the book cover shows his hair brushing his collar.

As an author, I prefer a partial face to a full face mainly because I like for readers to picture the hero the way "they" think the hero should look.
