But I also ignore most of the "rules" the Great They promote and do what I want in life. I only follow those "rules" that make sense. Lucas could have thrown money at getting the best script writers, and workshopped the result with a panel of his uber-jedi-cinematic peers. Instead he created something a bit like those straight-to-video B-move SF films from the 80s, but with less sex.

What Ep1 needed was a slightly older princess, and Lucy Lawless playing a one-eyed rogue starship captain who spends most of the movie working on the, erm, subext. Sadly reasoned argument doesn't get you very far with the pinheads of this world.

As for Star Wars, sure it wasn't anywhere near as good as it should have been, but it was a couple of hours fun diversion and regression to my childhood. As someone who's sat through most of Dean Cain's movies, trust me when I say I know bad SF when I see it.
;}#JamesOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09332376784689207703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343238.post-1117809343296917462005-06-03T10:35:00.000-04:002005-06-03T10:35:00.000-04:00My alternative to ranting is to just sit back and ...My alternative to ranting is to just sit back and look at the rhetoric each side of the debate uses.
